Downstream Finance Manager (m/f)
Job description
Our client is looking for a finance leader with a strong background in financial controlling, reporting and business partnering. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights. Experience in working with cross-functional teams, driving process improvements and supporting key business decisions will be essential for success in this role.
What will you do?
Lead finance and controlling activities for the assigned business area
Manage budgeting, forecasting, planning and financial performance tracking
Prepare and analyse financial reports, ensuring accurate and timely management information
Identify variances, investigate root causes and recommend improvements and cost-saving opportunities
Support business decisions through financial analysis and actionable insights
Work closely with business leaders, finance teams and other key stakeholders
Improve and simplify reporting, controlling tools and financial processes
Provide financial support for investments, CAPEX and business development initiatives
Ensure compliance with internal policies, reporting standards and deadlines
Lead, coach and develop the finance team while promoting continuous improvement

Requirements
University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field
At least 7 years of experience in finance, controlling, reporting or financial planning
Previous people management experience or the ability to lead and develop a team
Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, energy or multinational company is an advantage
Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and performance management
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP or Power BI is a plus
Fluent English, both written and spoken
Strong analytical thinking with excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to analyse complex financial data, work to deadlines and explain financial insights to different stakeholders
Proactive, reliable and collaborative, with a hands-on approach to solving problems
