In-house Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Internal Accountant to manage the complete in-house accounting agenda for multiple Slovak entities for our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, tax coordination, budgeting support, and payroll oversight, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
1. Bookkeeping & General Ledger Management
Review and verify the recording and categorization of daily financial transactions
Prepare invoices for group companies, including:
Matching costs for all services rendered against billing
Maintaining accounts receivable
Prepare payment proposals for management approval and maintain accounts payable
Review bank reconciliations and general ledger entries; identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy
2. Taxation
Calculate taxes owed and support the development of legally compliant tax optimization strategies
Cooperate with external accountants and advisors on all tax filings and statutory obligations
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic decision-making
4. Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including:
Profit and Loss Statements
Balance Sheets
Cash Flow Forecasts
5. Payroll & Expense Management
Oversee or process payroll, including calculation of wages, allowances, deductions, and bonuses
Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with local regulations

Osobnostné predpoklady a zručnosti
Proven experience in an internal or in-house accounting role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Slovak accounting/tax regulations
Experience working with multiple legal entities at once
Experience with accounting software and MS Excel
High level of accuracy, responsibility, and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management and external partners
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Discretion and responsibility when handling sensitive data
